Not all smoothies are intended to give you a quick energy boost or weight loss.  There are smoothies that can help to improve your memory and cognitive support.

In this article, we intend to give you two smoothie recipes that help to boost your brain power.

For weight watchers, you should take note that these smoothies are heavy with calories and you don't have to drink these everyday.  These smoothies are best for students who have study sessions or upcoming tests.

Here are two smoothie recipes that can help to boost your energy:

1. Brain Boosting Smoothie No. 1

Ingredients:

1 cup frozen strawberries
1 cup vanilla nonfat yogurt
3 tablespoons chocolate sauce
3 tablespoons peanut butter
1 tablespoon lecithin granules*
1 teaspoon flaxseed oil

* Lecithin granules is included in this recipe for its ability to break down into choline a natural amine which the body uses to make acetycholine – it is a nerve chemical which plays a major role in proper brain function.

2. Brain Boosting Smoothie No. 2

Ingredients:

1 banana Bananas
¼ cup blueberries
1/2 cup hemp nuts
½ cup apple juice
1 tsp rhodiola rosea

Blend Your Smoothie

To make your smoothie, you will need fruit juice or milk as your liquid base.

Put all your ingredients in the blender and circulate it until all the ingredients are liquefied.  The liquid at the top should be swirling and diffusing back down to the bottom. It can take up to 45 seconds for this to happen depending on the power of your motor and how full the jar is.

Serve your smoothie with ground ice to make it more refreshing especially during hot days.
