Little things mean a lot so they say.  A word of caution can save thousands of lives; each single step counts in a journey of a thousand miles, and so on.  The long list of little things that matter continues.  They provide us with tiny sparks that we need to make us burning with energy, desire and enthusiasm.

There are things that many people consider too small and trivial – yet they have a magic to help us make things happen or change situations for good – and eventually make a difference.  Here are some of them.

1. Affirmation

Affirmation is the act of feeding yourself with positive ideas based on the belief that “you can do it.” Affirmations are powerful words that breed self-confidence.

Studies show that people who frequently douse themselves with positive words and thoughts have more energy than those who entertain negative ideas.

2. Alkaline and Acid Don’t Mix

Your body uses acidic enzyme to digest protein such as meat while it uses alkaline to digest foods rich in carbohydrates.  Acid and alkaline neutralize each other, and eating foods that stimulate your body to produce both at the same time severely hinders digestion, which causes you to feel tired.

3. Keep Your Intestines Healthy

Healthy intestines help your body to absorb more nutrients from the foods you eat and to make your cells healthy.  Healthy cells translate to more energy for your body.

Yogurt is filled with good bacteria that help to keep your intestines in good health.

4. The S Thing

A 10-year-long study of 900 men found that the most healthy and energetic men are the ones who are most sexually active.

5. Afternoon Socks

Wearing a fresh pair of socks for your afternoon work session makes you feel like you are just starting off on a new day.  It could surely make a difference on your afternoon performance.

6. Chocolate is for Energy

Eating chocolate for dessert can give you an energy boost and an endorphin shot that makes you feel energized. Refrain from sugar-sweetened chocolates.  Sugar is not good for anybody’s health.

7.  Get Protein for Snacks

Protein rich foods which are low in sugar are still the best energy boosters.  For your afternoon munch, you may reach for mixed nuts, naturally sweetened yogurt, organic apple and unsweetened peanut butter to keep you up till sundown.

8. Wear Bright Happy Colors

The mood you project to others will be reflected back towards you.  By wearing bright, happy colored clothing, you are actually projecting a happy mood which your peers will surely reciprocate.  This is a good energy booster which can make your day worthwhile.

9. Take Good Care of Yourself

Regularly take time out to relax, pamper yourself with a soothing massage, or make yourself look good by paying a visit to your favorite salon.  A stroll in the park or a walk on the beach on bare feet perhaps, can do wonders to your physical, mental and emotional well-being.  Spend time to make you feel your best. Strive to be happy with positive thoughts.  Be energized.
