Toxins are everywhere.  They enter your body through the food you eat, the fluids you drink, the air you breathe and the products that you use to simplify your tasks.

You body has a natural way of removing toxins.  But if you will not do something to help it perform its task, some toxic substances which are hard to eliminate will remain in your body for years.  These can contribute to the onset of many health problems like cancer and other diseases that affect the major organs in your system.

1. Exercise

Exercise helps to dissolve body fat which holds plenty of toxins.  The toxins are then released to the bloodstream where the lymphatic system removes them.

Aside from its ability to reduce fat, exercise also helps to improve circulation and enhances the lymphatic system's function of transporting harmful organisms into the lymph nodes to be destroyed.

2. Chelation Therapy

Chelation is the process of removing toxic substances and heavy metals from the bloodstream with the use of a compound called chelate.  Chelation agents bind toxins and remove them from the body.  This process however has a disadvantage because a majority of chelation agents can only be administered in a healthcare facility.

3. Colonics

Colonics or colonic irrigation is a process of cleansing the colon.  It is similar to enema, only it is more effective because it uses more water.  Many health professionals do not recommend colonic irrigation because it raises the risk of dehydration and electrolyte imbalance.  Any person who wishes to go through colonics should seek professional advice first.

4. Saunas

Saunas help to detoxify the body by causing it to sweat to flush toxins out through the skin.  Saunas use heat to stimulate the body to perspire.

5. Supplements

Most dietary supplements are made to detoxify the body, especially the liver, because it functions as your body's filter against toxic substances. 

There are also other supplements which are intended to detoxify the colon, the kidneys and the respiratory system.

These are some of the ways to detox for better health and energy.  It is important to note however that your body has a tendency to lose lots of nutrients during the detoxification process.  You should maintain a healthy diet when you detoxify it.
