Stress is everywhere.  Even in the remotest, quietest place in the world, there is stress.  For some whose threshold to this undesirable situation is not high enough, a tendency for them to get sickly or even breakdown is quite imminent.  But we are still fortunate because nature has endowed us with foods that have the power to release stress.  If you are curious what these stress-releasing foods are, please read on.

1. Sweet Potatoes

Most people under stress usually crave for foods rich in carbohydrates and sugar.  Sweet potatoes contain carbohydrates and natural sweetness which can help you release your stress.

2. Asparagus

Asparagus are green vegetable which are rich in folic acid.  Also known as Vitamin B9, folic acid plays a great role in stabilizing your mood because it is one of the B vitamins that help your body to produce serotonin.  Serotonin is a chemical that has the power to exude a positive mod from you.

3. Milk

Studies have shown that foods which are abundant in calcium are effective tension reducers.  Milk contains calcium, antioxidants, Vitamin B and protein which work together to provide you with health and energy.  For an early morning energy boost and release of stress, eat a good breakfast with a glass of low-fat milk.

4. Almonds

Almonds are rich in Vitamin E, Vitamin B2, magnesium and zinc which are all known to fight stress.  You don't have to worry about its fat content; these are unsaturated.

5. Dried Apricots

For a natural, guaranteed relaxation of your muscles, dried apricots are one of the best.  Dried apricots are also known to release stress.

5. Cottage Cheese and Fruits

Like milk, cottage cheese is also rich in calcium and protein.  These are effective stress-releasing agents.  If you take cottage cheese with fruits rich in Vitamin C, the more effective it becomes as a stress fighter.

6. Beef

Beef can release stress because of its Vitamin B complex, zinc and iron which are the main players in putting you in a good mood.  Caution should however be taken when taking beef as taking it in high quantities may not be good for your health anymore.

7. Water

Water is life so they say.  It may not be considered as food but it plays a great role in releasing stress caused by dehydration.

So whenever you feel that you are tense or anxious, you better try any of these easily available foods which can make you feel better throughout your day.
