The fast pace of modern living coupled with our hectic schedules often exhaust us after each day of work.  This makes it hard for us to get renewed energy at the beginning of each new day. 

If only we can take a long pause from our work without affecting our economic condition, we will gladly welcome it.  But since it is difficult to stop working without making financial sacrifices, all we can do is to fuel us up with energy so that we can go on and on with our daily tasks.

One of the ways to face a challenging day is to start it off with a big boost of energy from healthy smoothies.  These are loaded with nutritious fruits and vegetables which help to energize you physically, improve your circulation and enhance your concentration and focus.

Here are four smoothie recipes that help to give you the energy boost that you need to keep going each day:

1. Energy Smoothie No. 1

Ingredients:

2 pints cut up pineapple

2 pints cut up watermelon

2 quarts coconut water

1 bag baby spinach

1 bag frozen blueberries

2 green apples or 2 bananas

Procedure:

Mix all the ingredients in a juicer then serve.  To make the smoothie more refreshing, you can add crushed or ground ice to each serving.  Store any extra smoothies in a freezer for future use.

2. Energy Smoothie NO. 2

Ingredients:

1/2 cup orange juice

4 – 6 strawberries, hulled and sliced

1/2 banana

1/4 cup silken tofu

1 tablespoon honey or sugar
6 ice cubes

Procedure:

Blend all the ingredients in a blender or juicer until the mixture becomes smooth.

3. Energy Smoothie No. 3

1/2 banana

6 strawberries

1 cup green tea

1 scoop protein powder

1 tablespoon chia seeds – optional

4. Energy Smoothie No. 4

1/2 peach

1 cup blueberries

1 cup green tea

1 scoop protein powder

1 tablespoon chia seeds – optional

Procedure:

1. Prepare a flavor for your smoothie and store in your refrigerator.

2. Put all the ingredients in a jar then seal it and store it in your refrigerator overnight.

3. Take the jar out from the refrigerator the following morning and transfer its contents to a blender.

4. Blend the ingredients until smooth.

5. Serve.
