Smoothies are known for their health benefits.  They are packed with vitamins, minerals, fiber and antioxidants that work together to nourish, energize, and keep you protected from diseases.  They also help to make you look and feel great with their rejuvenating properties.

Drinking smoothies is a great way to have a smooth, glowing skin.  Here are two smoothie recipes that help to give you a great looking skin:

1. Papaya-Blueberry Smoothie

Drinking a blend of papaya and blueberries is a good combination for beautiful skin.  Blueberries are loaded with antioxidants and phytochemicals that work to neutralize the harmful effects of free radicals on your cells.  They are also rich in vitamins C and E, manganese, fiber and vitamin B2.  All of these substances are essential for the health of your skin.

Papaya on the other hand, is a rich source of vitamins A, C, E, and K, fiber, folate (vitamin B9) and potassium.  Aside from its load of vitamins and minerals, this fruit also works to aid your body's digestion process to keep it free from toxins.

Prepare your papaya-blueberry smoothie with this recipe:

– 1 small or 1/2 large papaya fruit

– 1 cup fresh blueberries

– 3-1/2 cups chilled water

Blend all of these ingredients to make a fine smoothie.

2. Broccoli-Carrot-Cucumber-Spinach Smoothie:

Broccoli is jam-packed with B vitamins thiamine, riboflavin, niacin, pantothenic acid, folate, B6, and vitamins A and C, and it is loaded with minerals such as calcium, iron, magnesium, phosphorus, potassium and zinc.  It also contains fiber and isothiocyanates, a substance that helps to fight cancer.

Carrots are rich in beta-carotene, it is a substance that the body converts to vitamin A.  They are also packed with antioxidants, biotin, fiber, vitamins B6, C and K.  These substances work together to give you a healthy smooth skin.

Cucumbers serve as a base for this smoothie, but they also contain vitamins A and C, folate, potassium, manganese, silica and water to moisturize your skin and keep it smooth.

Spinach is a superfood which is packed with beta carotene, calcium, iron, vitamin A, C, and E, flavonoids and other antioxidants and minerals which help to maintain skin cell health by protecting it from free radicals.
